Glædelig jul
Hej Welcome to Denmark! I'm eating rye-bread sandwiches with the whole family. Come join us, we need someone to help get rid of all these. I will tell you all about Christmas in Denmark.
We go to church at 4:00pm to listen to the Christmas Story. When we get home we eat a special Christmas meal at around 6:00pm. After this meal we go dance around the Christmas tree, holding hand and hand to make a complete circle. Then we go open gifts. For dessert we have a ris á la mande, made with rice, milk, vanilla, almonds, and whipped cream. Most people call this rice pudding. We chop up the almonds into bits and pieces, all except one, then the person that gets the whole almond gets a special present.
On Christmas day we eat sandwiches on rye-bread.
Kids believe in Juelanden, which is your Santa Claus. He has a sled and reindeer he rides on to give presents to the families. He even has Nisser that are like elves.
